The Lochgair Hotel has been given a new lease of life thanks to energetic young owners Kevin and Bryan Greenock.
The brothers have recently purchased the hotel with Kevin, 30, working as the chef and Bryan, 24, the manager.
Kevin said: ‘I got back from working overseas and we started looking for a property. It’s taken us just over a year to find this place and we’re delighted with it.’
What used to be the restaurant has now been turned into a lounge bar. A whisky bar with a selection of more than 100 malt whiskies has also been added.
Kevin said: ‘We also have a games room with pool and darts which is another feature for guests and locals.’
At the moment the boys are concentrating on up-market bar meals but they also plan to open a ‘Fyne Dining’ restaurant later on in the year. Kevin is a champion of fresh, free-range, organic produce. He said: ‘Everything is fresh and locally sourced. The seafood here is fantastic.’
Kevin spent his time overseas working in large, five-star international hotels and award winning restaurants. He won awards for his restaurants in three different countries: New Zealand, Australia and France.
His obvious knowledge of Scottish cuisine from working at home and doing his training in earlier years combined with the knowledge he has from working across the world is a great recipe for making the most out of the fantastic local produce this area has to offer.
Kevin said: ‘We are not here to get rich, we are here to turn the hotel around.
‘We are young, energetic, we have bright ideas and we are putting a lot of energy in with a lot of focus on customer satisfaction.
‘We are absolutely loving it.’
