Situated between Lochgilphead and Inveraray – 10-15 minutes drive from Lochgilphead and 30 minutes from Inveraray. There is ample parking at the front of the hotel with a few spaces at the rear making for ease with luggage and access and offers traditional Scottish hotel accommodation.

Approximately 86 miles from Glasgow, the route takes you along the M8, A898, A82 and thence to the A83 passing through the famous Rest and be Thankful pass.
Approximately 116 miles from Edinburgh take the M8 to Glasgow and then follow the route as above.

The journey – from the outset – takes in some of the most diverse scenery that Scotland has to offer. As you leave Glasgow the Scottish Exhibition Centre & Conference Centre or ‘Armadillo Theatre’ is a thought provoking sight that tends to raise images of the Opera House in Sydney Harbour. A ‘man made’ wonder it prepares you, in some measure, for the ‘natural’ wonders unfolding as you travel towards mid Argyll and Lochgair.

This is a route that takes you through a wonderland of mountains, forests, lochs and wild, steep moors. Winding your way ever further northwards you will travel alongside Loch Lomond with Ben Lomond as an awesome, mirrored, backdrop; past Smokehouses, fish farms, Kilt makers, craft shops all housed in the striking buildings that are essentially Scotland. The Rest and be Thankful pass takes you through the stunning scenery of Arrochar Alps and thence to Clachan where the River Fyne flows into Loch Fyne.

Through Inveraray all white arches, ships, whisky, wool and above all the ‘seat’ of the Duke of Argyll - imposing Inverary Castle - through Furnace, Minard – alongside Loch Fyne to your destination – Lochgair.
